  • September 25, 1997 - During an inflight shutdown demonstration, the left engine would not restart. The pilot elected to land at the Howell, MI airport. The first attempt was aborded after it appeared the landing gear was not down. During the landing roll out on the second attempt, the nose gear collapsed due to a loss of hydraulic pressure caused by extending the flaps. (NTSB Report CHI97LA301)

  • Additional information describes the damage as: "...it appears that after the gear collapsed the airframe then lost an argument with ditches or similar, which resulted in the mainplanes folding (one downwards) outboard of the undercart, substantial structural damage was also done to the fuselage with noticeable rippling aft of the cockpit."

Current status: Destroyed
