Camair Aircraft Corporation 480 (480B)


Developed from the White Brother's WE-1 prototype, production rights were secured by the Cameron Iron Works' Camair Division in 1953, but it would take until May 1955 before enough changes had been made to satisfy the Civil Aviation Authority, and the Camair 480 awarded its certification.

Between 1954 and 1959 Camair completed the remanufacturing and conversion of 25 examples of the 480. However poor sales and growing competition from the major aircraft manufacturers forced Camair to close Galveston, Texas production line.
