  • Served as a prototype for a twin engine conversion of the popular four seat, single engine Navion.

  • Airplane was painted very dark blue with cream trim.

  • From the Major Repair and Alteration (337) Form, "This standard Navion was converted to a two engine aircraft in accordance with the attached drawings and engineering reports by the Dauby Equipment Co. owners of the aircraft. List of pertinant data will be found on the reverse side. This plane will be known as a "Twin Navion" and will carry the designation of X-16 until it is certified at which time it would be known to us as a D-16 and we request that you use this in refering to it."
